At Briarvista Pediatrics, we recognize that having direct access to a doctor who personally knows your child and your family is a substantial benefit in navigating what may otherwise be a long and daunting road.
With an emphasis on evidence-based medical care, safety, and the best practice guidelines set out by the American Academy of Pediatrics, our goal is to create a partnership between a child, his or her parents, and the pediatrician.
Our Services
We see patients starting with newborn care, offering the unique support of Lactation Consulting Services by a board-certified pediatrician.
From health maintenance visits that start at birth and continue through college, to same-day sick visits for those times when your child has an urgent complaint, you will be provided with the highest quality of medical care and counseling.
In addition, we are happy to see your child for sports physicals, asthma care, ADHD evaluations and management, behavioral health services, and much more.

All three of my children have been going to Briarvista Pediatrics since their first newborn appointments. We appreciate the wonderful nurses/front desk staff and always feel listened to, respected by, and well taken care of by Dr. Wexler and Dr. Levy. In our five years with them, they have tackled issues large and small with us and have always been easy to communicate with. I also used Dr. Wexler's lactation consultant services with my youngest baby and she was so helpful.

Dr. Wexler and staff are very friendly and provides you any information you are looking for when it comes to your child being sick or just a check up. They are really truly amazing.

Dr Wexler and Dr Levy are the absolute best. I love the messaging service that is offered so I don't have to wait until my child's next well visit or schedule a sick visit. Their calm demeanors have helped me a lot on my parenting journey. When I was convinced my kiddo was delayed (comparing to other kids) they heard my concerns and reassured me that every child is different and develops on their own. Not only are the doctors phenomenal, but the two ladies that work the front desk and the... Read more

This practice has been everything new parents need and want! Dr. Wexler and Dr. Levy are both incredible and great with our 1-year-old son. We've been at the practice since before birth, and before we were even discharged from our birth hospital we were in contact with Dr. Wexler. Each wellness visit has been very thorough and informative. Each sick visit I come away confident in the care I can provide to my baby through his illness. I've texted them in the evenings and have gotten near... Read more

We absolutely love Dr. Wexler and her staff. I feel like I’m one of the lucky ones in my mom groups when we talk about our experiences with our Pediatricians. She’s straight to the point and so supportive- she puts me at ease with all of my first time mom thoughts and concerns. The nurses are also really sweet and very professional. Great staff all around.
Having a Baby?
We are happy to meet you prior to your baby’s arrival. We offer twice monthly ZOOM visits with one of our physicians, so please call our office to register. During that virtual visit we will discuss our hours, policies, and services we provide. Questions may be asked via chat.
Our physicians do not see newborns in the hospital. Instead, the experienced newborn hospitalists will determine the care your baby will receive there. As soon as you know when you are being discharged from the hospital, please call our office to schedule the baby’s first visit. We will arrange for the first visit within 1-2 days of discharge. Please be sure to let us know when you call if there are any concerning medical problems in the hospital, such as prematurity, jaundice or weight loss.
The first visit is usually not scheduled as a lactation consultation. Instead, the first visit will allow our physicians to get to know you and your baby and perform a thorough history and exam. If you would like the first visit to also cover any breastfeeding problems – such as pain or difficulty with latch, supply issues, or a tongue-tie – please be sure to mention that on the phone and we will always do our best to accommodate the request. Read more about the lactation services we provide.
Please note that while we do not generally require a prenatal visit before accepting a newborn as a patient, we will only accept babies born via homebirth whose parents arranged for a prenatal visit AND call us within 24 hours of delivery to schedule the first visit with the pediatrician.
Parents of newborns born at a birth center MUST ALSO CALL within 24 hours of delivery to schedule the first visit. If calling on a holiday or weekend, please follow the prompts to be connected to the physician on call so that a visit can be arranged when the baby is between 24 and 48 hours old.
We do require that Vitamin K be given to the infant to prevent catastrophic bleeding.
Eve Wexler, MD, IBCLC, FAAP
Eve Oster Wexler was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Her undergraduate education was completed at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, where she received a Bachelors of Science in Biology and English & American Literature, cum laude. She then spent a year working at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, before entering medical school at Tulane School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA.
Upon graduating from medical school, Dr. Wexler completed her residency in pediatrics at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY. She then stayed at Mount Sinai for a fellowship in General Academics and Health Evidence & Policy and as an attending in the Department of Pediatrics. Her years at Mount Sinai helped instill a love of teaching as well as a firm commitment to practicing evidence-based medicine.
After her first son was born, Dr. Wexler and her family relocated to the Atlanta area where she worked in private practices outside the perimeter. It was during this time that she realized there was a lack of available services for new moms needing support with breastfeeding. While nursing her 2nd son, Dr. Wexler decided to become a certified lactation consultant to help provide those services herself.
Dr. Wexler is very excited to have opened her own practice in 2017, with a focus on the values she finds most important in medicine today. In addition to lactation consultations, she has a particular interest in child safety, ADHD diagnosis and management, and health & nutrition. She is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, as well as being an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Outside the office, you are most likely to find her at the Atlanta Zoo or a Braves game with her family or at home reading a good science-fiction or fantasy series — or traveling back to Disney World for some extra fun!
